Qualification

Dr. Avinash Srivastava is presently working as Director Urology and Renal Transplant surgery in Ivy Hospital a 180 bedded hospital in Mohali, He did his MBBS and MS (General Surgery ) from the reputed Maulana Azad Medical College , New Delhi.

He then completed his MCh in Urology from the world renowned Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences , Lucknow, which is one of the most prestigious super speciality training centres providing comprehensive traning in Urology and Renal Transplant.

Experience

He has an experience of more than 20 years in the field of Urology and Renal Transplant. He has set up the Urology department in this hospital and has been running it successfully for over 20 years now.

He is adept in all urological procedures like TURP including laser TURP, PCNL, URS, Radical nephrectomise and complicated laparoscopic surgeries. His field of interest include reconstructive surgeries for stricture urethra, etc

Expertise

He has special interest in performing special surgeries like AV Fistula, Permacath insertions in dialysis patients and AV Graft placement as vascular access in dialysis patients. He was the pioneering force in the starting of Department of Renal transplant surgery at Ivy Hospital Mohali where he has performed nearly 800 renal transplants including challenging cases like second or third transplants.

Achievement

He is a life member of the Urological Society of India, North Zone Chapter of Urology Society of India, Indian Society of Organ Transplant.

He has presented various papers and posters in both National and International conferences. He has also been invited as Chairperson in various Urological conferences and forums at national and Zone levels.
